I am qualified aromatherapist so you can have aromatherapy oils included in your massage.

What happens at an Indian head massage treatment session?
First, I telephone you and ask you a number of questions regarding your medical history and lifestyle. This is important because certain medical conditions preclude you from having an Indian head massage treatment. Of course, the information is kept strictly confidential. Once we have confirmed that you are able to have the treatment, we agree a place (usually, your home), date and time for the treatment.

I arrive at your home (or other appointed place) and set up my equipment. For your part, you will need to provide a warm, quiet space free from interruptions. So, unplug the 'phone, pack the children off to your in-laws, etc. I will provide all the necessary equipment including the seat. Finally, you sign the consent form, I accept payment and the treatment begins.

The treatment takes the following course:
  > I complete the medical / lifestyle questionnaire assessing your suitability for Indian head massage
  > You decide whether you want oil or not. Oil is applied only to the neck, hair and face. You can choose any combination or none at all. The choice is yours. You can even change your mind part way through the treatment.
  > No clothes are removed. It is advisable to wear a collarless cotton T-shirt as this will make the massage more comfortable.
  > You sit in the chair and I provide the complete massage to the following areas:
    > Upper back. I begin with some nice gentle massage then proceed to firmer and more vigorous movements.
    > Shoulders. I continue with the gentle and vigorous massage to both shoulders.
    > Neck. Oil may be applied here. Gentle massage movements are applied here to loosen up the muscles where the head attaches to the neck.
    > Scalp. Oil may be applied here. Oils are added to three places on the scalp and massaged in. Some gentle and vigorous movements are used here. (You get your hair played with a lot!!)
    > Face. Oil may be applied here. Some very gentle and relaxing movements around the face, sinuses and ears.
  > The treatment concludes with some Reiki to the throat, face and head.
  > I create a personalised aftercare plan and discuss it with you. Finally, we discuss any further treatments, make an appointment (where appropriate), I pack up and leave and you flop on the settee ...
