What
happens at a aromatherapy massage session? |
 |
|
| |
Please
note that the treatment requires the use of a treatment couch.
You will need a large space to accomodate the couch. The treatment
cannot be conducted in a confined space. Finally, you will need
a chaperone (e.g. your partner, friend, etc.) present in the
room or within earshot of the room. |
|

|
|
| |
First,
I telephone you and ask you a number of questions regarding
your medical history and lifestyle. This is important because
certain medical conditions preclude you from having a aromatherapy
treatment (just as they would in a conventional massage.) Of
course, the information is kept strictly confidential. Once
we have confirmed that you are able to have the treatment, we
agree a place (usually, your home), date and time for the treatment. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
I
arrive at your home (or other appointed place) and set up my
equipment. For your part, you will need to provide a warm, quiet
space free from interruptions. So, unplug the 'phone, pack the
children off to your in-laws, etc. Finally, you sign the consent
form, I accept payment and the treatment begins. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The
treatment takes the following course: |
|
| |
>
I complete the medical / lifestyle questionnaire assessing your
suitability for aromatherapy massage. |
|
| |
>
You select one or two essential oils which will be used in the
aromatherapy massage |
|
| |
>
Please note that most clothes need to be removed prior to the
aromatherapy massage. Of course, I provide towels to maintain
your dignity!! |
|
| |
>
I start some soothing music playing and you lay down on the
couch and relax |
|
| |
>
I perform the aromatherapy massage |
|
| |
>
After the treatment, there is time for you to discuss your healing
experience or ask questions if you wish |
|
| |
>
Finally, we discuss any further treatments, make an appointment
(where appropriate), I pack up and leave you in a better frame
of mind ... |
