What
happens at a reflexology treatment session? |
 |
|
| |
First,
I telephone you and ask you a number of questions regarding
your medical history and lifestyle. This is important because
certain medical
conditions preclude you from having a reflexology treatment.
Of course, the information is kept strictly confidential. Once
we have confirmed
that you are able to have the treatment, we agree a place (usually,
your home), date and time for the treatment. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
I
arrive at your home (or other appointed place) and set up my
equipment. For your part, you will need to provide a warm, quiet
space free
from interruptions. So, unplug the 'phone, pack the children
off to your in-laws, etc. Also, you need to provide yourself
with a seat. This can be an
armchair, settee or anything you can sit on comfortably for
up to an hour. Finally, you sign the consent form, I accept
payment and the treatment
begins. |

|
|
| |
The
treatment takes the following course: |
|
| |
>
I complete the medical / lifestyle questionnaire assessing your
suitability for reflexology |
|
| |
>
You take your seat and put your feet up on the footstool. |
|
| |
>
I begin by cleaning your feet with surgical spirit. Don't worry
about sweaty feet - surgical spirit is the best thing for this. |
|
| |
>
I perform some warm up exercises on your left foot. This gets
you used to my hands touching your feet. Don't worry, it wont
tickle. |
|
| |
>
I perform reflexology on your left foot. As I'm performing the
treatment, I might make some notes to discuss with you later. |
|
| |
>
I perform the warm up exercises and reflexology on your right
foot. |
|
| |
>
After this, I gently massage each foot in lotion. Nearly all
clients express that this is the best part of the treatment. |
|
| |
>
I discuss any notes I made during the treatment and write out
a personalised aftercare plan for you. |
|
| |
>
Finally, we discuss any further treatments, make an appointment
(where appropriate), I pack up and leave you to flop on the
settee ... |
