I
use only Biosun candles. They are safe
and there's no danger of dripping wax.
What
is Hopi ear candle therapy?
History
Hopi
ear candle therapy is also known as Thermal Auricular Therapy.
Ear candles have been used as far back as Egyptian times and
were also used by the Chinese. The term 'Hopi' comes from the
native North American Hopi Indian tribes. They used 'rifled'
out twigs as the tool for the therapy. The rifling forced the
smoke down the twig and into the ears
How
It Works
A
burning Hopi ear candle is placed in the ear and held here.
The burning causes a nice hissing sound much like the 'sound
of the sea' when you put a large sea shell up against your ear.
The sound is nice and very relaxing. The flame causes a vacuum
in the ear which helps loosen ear wax. I have first hand experience
of finding ear wax in a spent candle when a therapist tried
it on me. Just to be sure, I tasted the wax and, sure enough,
it tasted of ear wax - foul!! The smoke penetrates the ear,
sinuses and throat. Sometimes, you can taste and smell the smoke
a little. So, if you've got a bad cold then get treated using
a candle made with eucalyptus oil.
